Singapore Flyer

Who doesn’t want to see the beauty of the country you are visiting? I think nobody wants to miss any opportunity to see how wonderful a foreign country is, specially at night with all the lights on. In our own experience, last year, when we visited Singapore for 4 days, we tried many things and visited tourist spots like the Sentosa Island, China Town, Vivo Mall, Suntec City Mall, Fountain of Wealth and of course the version of Singapore’s “London Eye”, The Singapore Flyer which marks our Valentines celebration very memorable and unforgettable.

Singapore Flyer according to WIKIPEDIA is a giant Ferris wheel in Singapore built-in 2005 and finished in 2008. It is the tallest Ferris wheel in the world, taller than London Eye and Star of Nanchang.

Anyway, from our little shopping in the morning at Singapore’s China Town, we went to Sun Tec City for a lovely dinner at Kenny Rogers Roasters, sat in-front of the Fountain of Wealth for a little rest, wander around Marina Square and head our way to the ever famous Singapore Flyer to see Singapore at night! We walked for almost 20-25 minutes and finally reached the place where the giant Ferris wheel is located.

Here are the photos I took with my Canon IXUS 105.

I'm afraid of heights but then I manage. LOL. Singapore as my background.

There are restaurants and take away shops in the ground floor part of the building so wide variety of snacks is available. We paid S$29.50 each, the ride is approximately 30 minutes. Last ride is 10pm, opens everyday from 8:30am to 10:30pm.

It was such a great Valentines Day as well as a little holiday for us two. We had a very memorable experience that will last a lifetime for sure. I am hoping that one day I will visit Singapore again not just with this man but also with our kids and my daughter, Nina.

Have a great day!

UNIVERSAL STUDIOS SINGAPORE (Photographs)

14th of February last year when my boyfriend and I visited Singapore. It was a Valentine’s  treat for me and also a holiday break from his work back in the UK. Bit sweet, eh? Anyway, one of the places we visited was Sentosa Island and one of the main attractions and tourist spot in the island is The Universal Studios which has branch in several countries around the globe. Of course, I can hide the excitement to see and experience what Universal Studios got.

Battlestar Galactica: Human VS Cylon (Roller Coaster Ride)

We paid S$68 each for the for the admission and started a fun trip round. We had our first rampage in the Hollywood Boulevard and took a picture with Wacky Woody Pecker and his lady. Didnt get a chance with Marilyn Monroe as she is very busy posing with his fans that time and the queue was so long so we proceeded to New York and seen some people dancing in the street which is called Rockafellas. It is also knows as street entertainment. I gone crazy and gone sick after I took a chances with the roller coaster rides in Sci-Fi City. We went into the Battlestar Galactica: Human VS Cylon and it drove me mad. I felt sick after the ride because it was my very first time to ride rollercoasters. I told myself, NEVER AGAIN but then broke it! LOL!

Next stop was the Ancient Egypt. I was horrified by the tall ancient Egypt characters called Army of Anubis cos they look so horror walking around with their very scary looks and approach. We went for a picture with an ancient Egypt lady which looks so mad and angry but manage to capture one. Also, we went inside for The Revenge of the Mummy ride which reminds me most of Hong Kong Disneyland’s Space mountain. It’s a roller coaster ride indoors but more gentle than the Battlestar Galactica. Went for a Kiddie Ride I call it in the Treasure Hunters (not much really in there). Had a little ride in the Canopy Flyer (another roller coaster), kissed the dino babies sitting on their eggs (statues) and watched a nice show in Waterworld in the Lost World.

We are now in The Far Far Away Land

I was starving when we reached Far Far Away so we had some snacks at Goldilocks. We also watched Shrek’s 4d Adventure and had a little ride in the Enchanted airways (mini roller-coaster that passes above the man-made lake they made). I also met Shrek along with his Princess Fiona and had a little chat with them two, nice couple though. We also had a chance to stand and took a shot with the Penguins and ended the day with a nice shopping in the Universal Studios Store back in Hollywood Boulevard.

It was such a very memorable day for me. Didn’t expect that I will experience all of that with my boyfriend in our very first Valentines Day together. Expensive but very worth it. Really had so much fun and hoping one day I will be back and experience new rides (not big ones) and tour round Universal Studios Singapore all over again with my new, bigger, complete, happy  family.

Happy reading!
