PHOTO CHALLENGE 2013: Books

Book according to Wikipedia is a set of written, printed, illustrated, or blank sheets, made of ink, paper, parchment or other materials, usually fastened together to hinge at one side. A single sheet within a book is called a leaf  and each side of a leaf is called a page. A set of text-filled or illustrated pages produced in electronic format is known as an electronic book (e-book).

I aint a book fanatic. As a matter of fact I have only read one book in my life as far as I can remember and it was by Margaret Davis’ For The Love Of My Son. I just got hooked with the story and it only took me 3 days to finish it which was quite surprising as I hate reading. I am very opposite of my husband when it comes to that, he just love reading his books. He’s got an e-reader as well which was good but still he purchase books from eBay or Amazon which is cheap and was already used. He then gives it to the book bank near the community centre in our village to help those charitbale foundations to raise money for the soldiers or for poor children and people.

Now here is my little collection of book photos. Hope you like it!

PHOTO CHALLENGE 2013: Love Captured By My Lens

Love is in the air! As always I suppose. Love for me is TRUTH, HONESTY, LOYALTY and FRIENDSHIP. Everyday for me is love day, I am happy and contented in the arms of my lovely husband. Didnt know what love means before until my husband came. I had a dark past but despite of all it wasnt the hindrance for him to love, marry and spend his life with me. Happy days and lovely feeling, I couldnt ask for more and I am very blessed.

Here are my photographs! I hope you’ll enjoy and advance Happy Valentines Day to all the couples out there. xxx

PHOTO CHALLENGE 2013: Portraits

According to WIKIPEDIA, a PORTRAIT is a painting, photograph, sculpture or other artistic representation of a person, in which the face and its expression is predominant. The intent is to display the likeness, personality, and even the mood of the person. For this reason, in photography a portrait is generally not a snapshot, but a composed image of a person in a still position. A portrait often shows a person looking directly at the painter or photographer, in order to most successfully engage the subject with the viewer.

Bransby Home of Rest For Horses is an equine welfare charity that rescues horses, donkeys, ponies and other animals. Their main objective is to prevent cruelty and protect these animals as well as promoting knowledge on how to care and treat them in public. They have two sites in the UK, one is in Lincolnshire which is 365 days open from 10am-4pm, no entrance fee, free parking and one in Herefordshire which is currently close to the public. They have over 400 animals in care and only funded by public donations.

It was my very first time to see such big-massive horses specially ex-racing horse “Craigie Boy” and those cute donkeys in the field. I suppose, these horses are very used to people as they come to their gates and put their faces over for you to have a little stroke and touch. They are also very friendly in that kind which makes you feel a little bit more comfortable. They institution also have a little gift shop and inside there are tables where you can have snacks. They sell notebooks, pens, soft toys and cards that has photos of the horses in it. They have donation boxes which is the main source of income for the charity to fund the needs of the animals, staffs there are mostly volunteers and friendly which I think is very kind and loving.

I had fun on my little trip to Bransby, I may not be as helpful as others but I’ve done my part. Surely, we will go back there in summer to see more of the animals and help in our own little way.

If you wish to visit the home or help then raise funds to keep it open and going then please visit their website and see what you can do.
